TERMS
Terms for using Surco.
Surco is a free passion project for checking surf forecasts and keeping a private Diary. These terms set clear limits around that service.

Using Surco
You may use Surco for personal, lawful purposes. You are responsible for your device, your account credentials, and the content you add. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or use it to violate another person's rights.
Forecasts are informational
Forecasts and condition ratings are estimates based on third-party weather and ocean data. They can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Surco is not a safety, rescue, navigation, or emergency service. Always check local conditions, official warnings, access rules, and your own ability before entering the water.
Your Diary and photos
You retain ownership of the writing and photos you add. When you enable Sync & Backup, you give Surco the limited permission needed to store, transmit, restore, and delete that content on your behalf. We do not claim ownership of it or publish it.
Keep your own copies of content you cannot afford to lose. Local data can be lost if the app or device is removed, damaged, or reset before a successful backup.
Accounts and deletion
A named account is optional. Surco may create an anonymous technical identity so account-free users can save Spots. You must provide accurate information when creating a named account and keep access to it secure.
You can permanently delete a named account inside the app under Settings → Account. Account deletion removes server-held account data and backups. Your local Diary remains on that iPhone in local-only mode unless you delete it or remove the app.
Availability and changes
Surco is provided free of charge. We may fix, change, suspend, or end features when needed to maintain the project, protect users, or comply with law. We will avoid unnecessary disruption, but continuous availability and permanent data retention are not guaranteed.
Disclaimer and liability
To the extent allowed by law, Surco is provided “as is” without warranties of accuracy, fitness, or uninterrupted availability. Surco is not responsible for decisions made from forecast information, surfing injuries, unsafe conditions, or indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
Governing terms and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. If a term is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply. Questions can be sent to hello@surco.app.
